Helicopter Photo Shoot at Logan-Cache Airport
I always say that special project shoots and unique photo sessions are one of my favorite things... This photo shoot with my grandma in law was one of those! It was an impromptu shoot, I was fortunate enough to be at the event when it happened so I brought my camera and captured this exciting event.
Leading up to her 90th birthday, Hazel's kids planned a surprise birthday party for her. They invited the entire family (huge) and people were planning to come from all over. As part of the celebration her grandson, who flies helicopters with USU, was to take her up on a 45 minute flight around the valley. She didn't know about the party, but she knew about the helicopter ride, and she was so excited! She talked about it for days.
The week of the flight she ended up in the hospital with serious complications. Her family thought it was likely the end. Fortunately, things turned and she recovered. Her doctor gave her approval to go up in the chopper, and her dream came true! The entire family came as planned and waved from below as she flew by. She is a strong and very loved lady. Also brave. She even asked to have the doors off of the helicopter so she could see better.
It's the times like this that I am so grateful I have a fancy camera and know how to use it. I love capturing events and stories in a way that make the memory more impactful and meaningful. That's why I love photography! It was truly a joy to be there that day.
