Surviving the First Year with T1D

This was such a fun milestone to be a part of. Hudson is the son of one of my long time clients, who found out a year ago that he has Type 1 Diabetes. He made it through a year of big adjustments, and he and his family are going to have party to celebrate, also called a "diaversary." So we did a diaversary photo shoot! One of the main requests for the location was bold colors. This wall, located in the Gilbert Heritage District, was perfect! It represented his strength, resilience, and courage that he has had as he has faced this new challenge with T1D in his life over the past year.

I love doing special shoots and projects like this one. The images tend to carry a little more meaning and reward in the end. I was impressed as I spent time with this mother-son duo and got a feel for how far they have come and how much they have learned together. Just look at all those T1D things scattered around him in the photo below! Things they knew nothing about (like me) and have now become a part of their daily lives.

Facing challenges like that is tough, and overcoming them is worth celebrating! So happy diaversary Hudson, you're amazing! Thanks for letting me be a small part of your celebration with a fun and unique diaversary photo shoot.
